ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDIO vi
This studio forms the capstone project for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the Architecture program. Progressing from the previous studio, which focused on urban streets, it aims to empower the urban context through a comprehensive study of its people, place, and time. Hence, develop an architectural intervention that embodies sensitivity in the meditation between architecture and socio-cultural needs, the designs of internal spaces, and the demands of the external constraints
Project 1
In this phase, we in a group (Ar. Edward) are to investigate, study and analyze the site to understand valuable components before designing. We decided to approach the site analysis with a social aspect to analyse the changes in Chow Kit then provide a solution to retrieve the site.

Project 1b
In this stage and upon clearly understanding the 3P: people, place, and project, students will take the project to the next phase individually. I approach the design with revitalised HowKit using the good side of the community then to attract more people to come to the site.
Narative
exP.L.Oration - a creative learning hub and social lounge for Chow Kit’s community to play, learn and interact with an open heart and hoping to cultivate healthy interest and eliminate the unhealthy leisure.
The stigmatised image has made not only the city-chow kit but also the community there to be isolated from others. Thus, the unhealthy lifestyle and the discrimination make the site is lack 'fun' and 'recreational' moments for the locals. Under privileged like the prostitute are forced to provide unhealthy leisure and children there with unhealthy childhood will eventually tend to continue to fall into the cycle if there is no new leading path to them. From a micro context, due to the (second place) rigid work/ lift cycle might lead to the local community's <unhealthy> quality of life as from the article, sex workers’ customers are mostly white collars around just to escape from work stress and find some pleasure. To break the cycle, I target the younger generation and hope can have an impact on their future life. Using the keyword ‘play’, I analyse how children in Chow kit have fun where they are usually found near the drainage and dumpster area. Although the quality of the play area is not high they have a sense of achievement when they ‘found’ or search for something which is similar to the characteristic of Site 1. The site is surrounded by various types of buildings which cause it hidden from the main street. Incidental visitors tend to explore the site guided by wayfinders thus, I decided to use this quality to invite users to have the continuation journey from the exterior to the inner side of the building. The urban room proposed will be a creative learning hub and social lounge for the transient group and aim to cultivate healthy interest and promote skill learning to the young ones and insert some delight moments for the workers during their break time.
Interim
I cotinue to develop the form and technical part to have a more complete form of exploration. From the cocept, the plans form is not clearly defining my ideas thus, beside strenghten my concept, plans and sectio is furthur refine.
